He has been instructed on the first 1980 Hague Convention case between Japan and the UK, the first reported case of a child being returned to Algeria, the first reported case of a child being returned to Sudan, and the first case concerning the 1996 Hague Convention to reach the UK Supreme Court.
Melissa Kucinski – a fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers, has served on delegations to the last two Special Commission meetings on the 1980 and 1996 Conventions, is a member of the Department of State’s Advisory Committee on Private International Law, and the Uniform Law Commission’s Joint Editorial Board on Uniform Family Laws.
